This sentiment is the very essence of my thoughts on recovery, hence, the name for this blog – Process not an Event. I can appreciate that recovery is not just a physical abstention from something I put in my body, or refraining from a specific action. Rather, recovery must permeate my entire existence – the “practice these principles in all our affairs” of Step Twelve. Otherwise, I am on a slippery slope.
